Many of you who frequent the south side of the building have asked where King Tawhaio has gone …

This majestic piece of work by James Ormsby of his ancestor King Tawhaio has been lent to the Auckland Art Gallery for their forthcoming exhibition Toi Tū Toi Ora: Contemporary Māori Art scheduled to run from 5 December 2020 to 9 May 2021.

If you work in or visit The Woolstore but hadn’t come across this amazing graphite drawing (completed in just two days!), you can usually find it at home on the first floor outside Dick & Jane and Once Upon A Time.
